2000 Christmas Classic

Posted December 31, 2000
Despite the weather we had 54 players compete in this year Christmas Classic. We had people as far away as Bowling Green, Ky come down to play in the one day tournament. We thank them and all of the other out of towners that came over to play with us. Andrea Hallaman was our TD for the tournament. This was her first PDGA sanctioned tournament and we think she did a great job.

Now when you look at these scores remember these players had to endure rain and a lot of wind, so don't be too hard on them. Again we like to thank everyone who came to the tournament and would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Pro/AM Random Doubles Tournament!

Posted September 15, 2000
Everybody played and had a blast!

This was a fairly casual tournament, so usual formalities like making sure to get last names was not followed. We had 25 players that played. We had 9 pro/am teams and 3 and 1/2 am/am teams. We played two rounds. 1st place in Pro/AM was Randy Fortenberry and Jason Judkin they took $100($50 each) Tie for 2nd and 3rd place Tom Monroe and Chuck Whitten and Mike Dames and Thomas ?, they split $80 among the four of them. In Am/Am Ron Pittman was the odd man so he took 1st place by himself and took home $50. 2nd place was won by Kathy Dammes and Mike G. and they shared $30. 12 ctp's (closet to the pole) prizes were given away, don't ask me who they were. Well I can tell you three of them were won by Chuck. The the ace pot was won by Andrea Hallaman in a play off.

More Pin Placements

Posted August 31, 2000
As of 08/12/00 we now have almost every hole with 3 different pin positions. 13, 15 and 16 are the only holes that still only have two placements. The ground in those areas was not cooperative so we were unable to dig additional placements. Hopefully in the future we will be able to correct that problem. A basket rotation schedule has already begun as of this month, August 2000. A new rotation schedule will be posted at the beginning of each month showing where the baskets have been moved. All baskets will not be moved each month, only an average of 6 per month.

New Tee Pad

Posted August 31, 2000
I think we have got the tee pad on #4 as good as it is going to get. We have extended it were it is now 8 feet long compared to the original 6 feet and we have set it lightly in cement which has made it a lot more sturdy. The cost of this tee pad was right at $50, but took several man hours to complete. If we decide this is what we want to use to place in the Amatuer Tee Pads then we are going to need a good crew of folks to have this done properly. I will keep you posted on the future plans of this project.

2000 Tax Tourney

Posted April 30, 2000
Well, we did not quite fill up. We were 3 shy. I guess the rain early in the week scared a few off. Or, maybe it was the NASCAR race that did it. We had a good time anyway. The 6 holes in the woods added a nice twist to the weekend. The final 9 was spectacular. We had 100ft birdies, over the water parked drives and wet, in the water drives. It was everything I hoped it would be.

Round 1 was the longest course configuration. It got easier as the weekend went on. Happily, the scores reflect that.

Changes from round 1 to round 2:
5 short (from 719 to 508)
1 short (from 359 to 283)

Changes from round 2 to round 3:
3 short (336 to 315)
4 long (230 to 245)
7 short (346 to 324)
8 right (330 to 357)
9 short (353 to 253)
12 short (341 to 256)
16 long (333 to 353)
