The Monday 5/11/09 meeting of DGB was called to order with 4 of 7 of the DGB club officers present.
Membership Report:
Jebb provided a report on the 2009 membership drive. Currently we have 55 full members and approximatly 80 supporting members (bag tag holders).
Non-Profit Update:
Non-Profit status filing should be made soon, pending discussion with Trey Marlbrough on the remaining requirements needed for filing.
2009 Tournaments:
Upcoming tournaments include the Magic City Masher (05/16/09), the Solstice Summer Sizzler Supertour (June 20-21) and the Alabama Sports Festival (06/20/09). Discussion was held on the possibility of having a SuperClass event at Montevallo, possibly sometime mid summer due to SuperClass's more casual nature.
2009 Summer League:
Motion was made to move the start time for Summer League to 5:45 pm. Time change will be made as long as there is enough time for play to finish before dark. League will begin June 3rd and will run 9 weeks on Wednesday nights playing the 24 hole setups. Play will be free, but will require a DGB bag tag ($5).
DGB Informational Letter to Public Officials:

An article on the charity Ice Bowl tournament that DGB hosted earlier this year made the front page of the United Way Food Bank's quarterly newsletter. The event raised $1,167 and over 100 pounds of food for the charity !
The newsletter is sent out to all of the charity's board members, agencies & donors ! I have attached a copy of the newsletter below.
We also received a thank you letter from the the charity (attached below).
Thanks again to everyone who helped make this event a huge success !!
