Now its all good news, we have 'anonymous' donors to make this tourney a PDGA B-Tier and it is now added to the PDGA schedule!

One-day tournies are a great way to get some $$ for the club or a bigger tourney. And only $2 fee apiece and players get qualified for the huge SN championships in Aug/Sept.

Will GW be set up as the Sizzler will be?

"Will GW be set up as the Sizzler will be?"

I think we could arrange that!

Great news! thanks to a couple of generous anonymous donations we're now able to host this as dual-sanctioned being both a PDGA B-Tier and a SN qualifier. We've also made arrangements to host this tourney at GW in the morning and Trussville in the afternoon! The entry fees have gone up slightly as the tourney has now grown to a B-Tier and as such the $10 non-PDGA member fee will also apply.

We're still looking into free lunch or something of the sort for DGB appreciation day, suggestions/sponsorships welcomed.

Flyer is now added to first post.

Technically everyone will eat lunch as part of payout, but DGB members get the price of lunch discounted from their entry ChrisP already has it set up in the online registration form!

If anyone reading absolutely cannot eat hamburger send me a PM and I will try to negotiate getting you a chicken sandwich.

You just need to have SN points from what I understand. This tourney is your last opportunity in this area.

The SNAC is the Southern Nationals Amateur Championship. It is the Championship event for all amateurs who have played at least 1 of 100+ events during the SN season (June-May). You must have played in at least one event from June 08-May 09 to be able to play.

Justin, you are qualified because you've played 4 events thus far. http://www.sndg.org/stats/player.php/Justin-Knowles You must play advanced as you cashed at Florence in March, and SN rules state you must play in the highest division you have cashed in for no less than six months. Plus, you too dang good for Int.

The 2008-09 Championship will be held in Hartselle and TD'd by Josh Lenox. All prizes are purchased through $2 fee per amateur per event throughout the season, sponsor monies and entry fees. There are no Novice division and it will not be PDGA sanctioned.

Here are the results of the last three SNACs.
http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/801
http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/699
http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/587

Being qualified for Southern National Am Championships also qualifies you for the SNPC, the Pro Championships. The SNPC is one the Top Ten paying PDGA tournaments in the world, with over $23K paid out in each of the last three years. http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/800 You won't be able to sign up immediately, because invites are determined by SN points accumulated throughout the season. But once the time period for those invited ends, registration will open up to all players with SN points regardless of Am or Pro.

The SNPC is also a USDGC qualifier. Top 5 scores not already qualified will get the chance to play the greatest tournament in the world.

Yes, all Pro tees, except for Juniors possibly, especially since most of the targets are now in the new short positons.

Unfortunately I'd agreed to volunteer for Do Dah Day long before this tournament came up. I'm still planning on showing up at some point to visit.

But the important thing. I want to invite everyone to the officially unofficial after party!

The awesome Tragic City Roller Girls are taking on the ladies from Panama City @ 7:00pm at the Zamora Shrine Temple off 459. If you've never seen roller derby, you're missing out! Tickets are $15 at the door and they have a cash bar inside! Click the poster for the TCR website with more info.
