New course approved for Trussville!!!!

Well i went to the trussville park board meeting tonight and they gave me the go ahead to start the new course i've been laying out for the past couple of months

It will be the area's first wooded course with a few open holes thrown in.

this is going to be a really fun and somewhat challenging course, a little like Mastin in a way. Gonna be some clearing to be done, so i hope everyone will want to pitch in and give a hand. we will be scheduling some workday coming up soon.

The real kicker is, they don't have the funds to buy baskets this time, so it will be up to us to raise the money for the baskets. a number of people have already expressed intrest in sponsering a hole, at ruff count we already have 10 or 11 hole accounted for.

Its not going to take alot to get this course going, there isn't any undergrowth, very little privot to deal with and mainly just small sapling to take down. If all goes well i think we can have this course up and going by the end of spring! Finally a new course to play

Great work, Tim! Where in Trussville is it located? A fund-raiser tournament at the site early on might generate some enthusiasm and help pay for the remaining baskets, especially if the decision is made to have the entry fees pay for the baskets and not go to giveaways. I think most people would be open to that. Keep us posted with ways we can help.

Oh yea i forgot to mention where it will be located i was so exited.

It will be in the sports complex directly across from civitan course, just take a left into the sports complex instead of a right where we park by hole 1.

2 courses less than 2 minutes apart, SWEET!!

the course will start in the parking lot above the boys little league baseball fields heading down towards the cahaba river working towards the tennis courts.

It is basiclly going to circle the whole complex similar to the mountain bike trail.

For everyone who has committed to donating a basket, would you please get with TK and start getting those funds together? I think the Masher is bringing in a few. So, TK would the end of the month be a good time to have these funds ready? I know I said I would purchase one, so I need to manage my funds to do so. Also how about Tee Pads are funds needing to be raised for them?

My offer still stands to donate one of the old Innova Discatchers for a practice basket, just needs a full pole to convert from portable.

First Ace

Joe Meadows and I went to find the new Trussville course and we found about three holes above the soccer parking. We found one hole where we found the tee box and a hole in the ground where the basket should be. We played the hole and Joe landed the disc in the pole hole! His only shot on the new course is an ace. Tim, call us when you plan to work we didn't know about the first work day. Thanks, Tim
