Bill,
Wish you could be here with us in sunny Alabam' for the Ice Bowl. It may really be a Mud Bowl, but that's OK too! By the way, the lined jeans, hand warmers & ear muffs are what keep some of us from appearing as Nancys! The hand-warmers stuck in a chest pocket to warm the blood and lined jeans have been standard equipment for me on cold motorcycling and fishing days for a long time. Kudos to Tom for turning me on to the modern fleece ear muffs that don't yank out what little hair I have left on my noggin!

I was just taking to Marshall and we were talking about teeing off on hole 5 from the walking path by the bench, he said that some of you have been teeing from there to avoid the mud.
I think this would be a good idea to tee from there after all this rain we have had, nobody wants to have to get in all of that crap and worry about good footing and possably getting injured.
What are others thoughts on this? I vote yes!

I think that is a good idea. It's been pretty sloppy even before the rain we have had the last 2 days. I'll make sure we mark the alternate tee in the morning & mention it in the players meeting.

Moved the final three today, and as far as five played from the bench that sounds like a good idea to me, but if were doing that we should play to long position, jk

that long position is incredibly nuts to play on a short, wet winter day. 2 rounds of 24 is going to be pushing darkness even playing the short pin.
I might try to use it in a tournament I'm planning for Spring though.
doh, just caught the j/k part.

Well there wasn't any rain, but the wind was pretty brutal. Other than that, it was a great day of disc golf. We had a good turn out for the tournament, and the chili and donuts were great, I couldn't thank those guys enough. Marc and Chris ran a good tournament, and I had alot of fun. Thanks to James Blanchard for the wood for the fire, I'm sure im leaving people out, but it was a good day, and hey getting my first top three finish in open wasn't too bad either.

TK carded an 11 under the first round. Probably a 1,000+ round. Looked like he could hold on. A couple other divisions had ties for the lead, so it was anyones game.

Ya tk finished with a 18 down, marshall came in second with a 10 or eleven down i think, i came in third with a four down. Then justin lesley won advance beating pj in a play off, john roberts won intermidiate with a very hot second round compared to the first round, i want to say it was like a seven or eight down.

Don't have the Open cards in the Scorepoint, I don't know what happened to them, so that's why their scores aren't included. Also, Ben Kelley's card was missing so I don't know what his actual scores are, I have him listed as a DNF. Justin Lesley won in a playoff against PJ Aguirre.
**most interesting stat......Barrett, Bradley and Brandon Eubanks (brothers?) all shot different scores during both rounds yet all ended up tied at 166!

Thanks to everyone that came out and supported the United Way Food Bank of Central Alabama!! It looks like we equalled last year's amount raising over $1100 for the charity!
The weather was DEFINITELY colder this year than last, maybe next year we can have another 'N' ICE BOWL' !!
I've got a few of the 'GW' stamped players package discs left over. Wizards, Warlocks, Magic, and VooDoo putters for sale at $9 each. PM or email me at chrisp@eatsleepdisc.com if you would like some.

We finished the final accounting for the Ice Bowl & the total cash donation to the United Way Community Food Bank of Central Alabama is..... drumroll please.........
$ 1,174 !!!!
We beat last year's donation by $7, even with the weather being much worse this year.
Congrats to the 2010 Birmingham Ice Bowl Division Winners:
Open Men - Tim Keith
Advanced Men - Justin Lesley
Intermediate Men - John Roberts
Novice Men - Danny Self
Thanks to everyone who came out & made this event a success !!
Mark your calendars now --

The total weight on the canned goods we donated at the event was 700 pounds !!
That blows away last year's total of around 100 pounds.
Thanks to everyone who brought them !!

Because we filled up the same size container last year & it was only 120 pounds. Must have been lots of Ramen noodles in there last year !
