just registered. What's the set up going to be? It only allows you to sponsor one hole with online registration. Is this a sponsor a hole/pick the layout kinda thing?

Also I noticed it still has the location as Trussville on the pdga website.

I will see if I can fix the online store so that it allows you to pick more than 1 hole sponsorship. You can also indicate your sponsorship on this thread and can pay on the day of the tournament. I will be posting the layout in the next couple of days, and it will include a good mix of long/short. Which hole(s) do you want, Bobby?

Hopefully, the pdga website will be updated soon. I sent them an email right before Thanksgiving, and I got a response this morning so it shouldn't be long before it says Birmingham. There is usually about a 24-48 hour delay between when they update their database and when that change is reflected on the website.

I added a flyer to the OP. My graphic design skills are still a work in progress. Thank you google images for your cheesy clip art.

    Kevin,

GW Park only has one tee per hole.

Thanks for the update. I remember now, I guess that I really meant short/long baskets. No woods holes for this one?

It gets dark to early to play all 24 holes so we are only playing the original 18 holes to keep from having to rush things.

One week out and I'm feeling super lonely as the only hole sponsor.

  15. #15
Bobby, let's do lunch tomorrow w Clifford if he's available - I wont be able to make it to the tourney but I would be happy to sponsor.

  16. #16
I've got a work lunch tomorrow. Which hole do you want?

  17. #17
I'll take hole 5, that should give people time to read the flyer

    Practice round at 10:00 Sat.

  19. #19

Sadly I won't be able to make it. :-(
I am sponsoring a couple of holes and throwing in some cash CTP's.
There will be a couple of members of Team Thornton coming from Marietta. Please make Matt Orchard and Haley Reese feel as welcome as you always make me feel.
Haley is the newest member of Team Disc Caddie and I will be giving her all the support possible.
She is one of the strongest women players I have seen in awhile and this is only her third tournament. Don't be surprised if she beats some of you guys. In the Gwinnett open she beat all AM women by 21 strokes, won 2 CTP's and beat all the men and women AM's in the putting contest.

Hope everyone has a great time and remember IT IS ALL ABOUT THE FUN!!!!

Bill, come by on your Xmas break if you can. Take care.

One of the special DGB member only CTP's will be an INNOVA Competition bag!

All of the long Pro/Adv tees are marked on the course. Note the addition of a pro tee on hole 3. Check out the edited Tournament Layout post above with listings of alternate tees for Pro/Adv and all of the added OB rules.

The tournament is starting to fill up and the field will be capped at 72 players. Preregistration will close at 8:00 pm on Friday night on the DGB store. After preregistered players it will be first come first served on Saturday morning. I will be at GW Friday afternoon to take preregistration in person, too.

The weather is looking to be very nice on Saturday with a high of 62 degrees, partly sunny, with a very small chance of some late precipitation.

I also want to thanks of all our sponsors so far especially the event sponsors AQ2Tech, Disc Caddy Golf, Team Thornton, and Kevin Reilly.

What about the pavement alley on the left of hole 3? Won't that be OB? I don't think most people would consider the alley a road, sidewalk, or parking lot.

"3 - long (right of sidewalk is OB) (long tee for pro/adv)"
"All sidewalks, water, roads, parking lots, and over fences will be OB except the service road between holes 2 and 8."

  26. #26
That is OB. I was considering the alley a road since it is paved.

  27. #27
Cars do drive up and down the alley. It has always been OB. BTW, the new Candy Star Stamped proto Roc3's are in the van.

  28. #28
Looks like about 40 have signed up. Better sign up with Clifford in person this afternoon, or on line , so you can play.

  29. #29
The field will be capped at 72, and tomorrow morning will be first come first served until we hit the cap. I will be turning off the tournament in the store at 8:00 pm tonight. The pdga tournament page is current, and I will continue to update it as orders come in.

We are at 50 players preregistered now. Don't wait and get left out. We've got #2 ranked player in the world Ricky Wysocki and PDGA Rookie of the Year Cameron Colglazier in town for this one!
