    InDiGo Blue Pad Scoring Averages

Below is a statistical analysis of scoring at InDiGo from last weeks mini. Hopefully this will help us decide what the "par" should be for each hole.

The players in this sample ranged from near 1000 rated pros, to moderate level intermediate players around 875.

The par indicated here was our initial "gut" feeling on what the par would be, but after looking at this we might have revise a few holes up. Namely 1, 8, and possibly 12 and 15.

I will continue to update this as receive additional data from future mini's at the course.

One thing I'm really happy about is the score distribution on 17 & 18. Definitely going to shake up some lead cards!

Its going to be tough taking to much out of such a small sample size and people playing divisions they may not ordinarily play. Your best results will come after multiple rounds (league matches and bigger tournys)

Oh yeah, I'm going to keep updating this as we have mini's. The problem comes in that I have to put par on the signs ASAP...so we're going to be somewhat limited with the sample size.

Jeremy is right about the small sample size, but these results do not look abnormal either. It is appealing for a 1000 rated round to actually be par on this course (which is a 62 or 63 currently). The player ratings were designed for a 1000 rated round to be scratch golf.

I could easily see hole 1 being a par 5 and hole 8 and 15 being a par 4 in these pin positions. It is telling when (out of 15 players) nobody got the 4 on hole 1. To me a 3 feels like an eagle for that hole.

While I think #1 is a hard 4, I'm not convinced it's a legit 5, maybe make the cliff all around the top after the AM pad OB, then turn it into a 5. I thought 8 was already a par 4, so that's my opinion on that one haha. My issue with 12 is that, in my opinion, is the worst hole on the course. This is because the fairway kind of ends half way and then you just have to shoot through the trees and hope you don't hit one. This would be a great par 4 if it was cleared all the way to the "Green" area, just changing it to a par 5 doesn't make the hole any better. I'm fine with 15, it's a hard 3 but would be a real easy 4. 61-62 par sounds about right to me.

We have discussed the need for a few of the trees on the right side of the fairway being taken down. ( If you are at the short pin looking to the long pin. The trees to the right of that area being thined ) I like the hole but think if we keep the landing area where it is and thin the stuff to the right it makes it more fair. The elevation and turn already make it a hard second shot. That being said the trees were left to see how it played before we cut to much. I would like to keep the hole tight on the right side to make you alter your shot if you get over there but open it enough to at least have some lines. I think everyone will agree there is no reason to reward a bad shot.

Yeah that sounds good, what I was getting at is cutting enough trees so you have a line to the green that's equivalent in width to the line coming off the pro pad, I guess I accidentally made it sound like I was suggesting a little clear cutting action lol.

I understood. Thanks for the input.
