Most of you have seen and liked the PVC disc holder I have in the back of my car. Of course this was not an original design, Chris Jaskolka got the idea from Team Jerky in Huntsville, and passed it on to me.

Some of you have asked me about it, so I am sharing the specs and tips here.

All Materials are 1/2" PVC

8 Tees (or Elbows) - Tees allow the carriers to stack vertical, Elbows create a clean looking design like mine.
2 Crosses
1 Pipe 10'
2 Pieces of pipe insulation 6' each length (non-slit)

Cut PVC pipe into four 21" segments and eight 3.75" segments.
Assemble and trim to fit as necessary.

1) Glue a 3.75 piece to each end of the crosses.
2) Glue elbows/tees to the ends of the assembled crosses. "Remember, only glue three elbows/tees to the crosses, the other elbow/tee per end will be used later."
3) Glue three 21" pieces to each of the three elbow/tees on one cross brace.
4) Cut three 22" pieces of insulation, slide pieces on the 21" PVC sections.
5) Glue remaining bracket to the three 21" sections of PVC.
6) Cut one 22" piece of insulation, and slide over remaining 21" PVC section.
7) Glue remaining two elbows/tees to each end of the 21" PVC section.

Do not glue the single PVC section w/elbows to the other section. This will be used to access the discs stored in the carrier.

If you have glue (I used PVC glue) and a hacksaw or suitable cutting devise, the total materials costs around $6.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

do you worry at all about leaving discs in your trunk? i was wondering if they'd melt or something. this week after work my champ discs felt.. warm. if i opened my trunk and my discs were melted, i might actually cry. really.

Personally i don't leave mine in my trunk, BUT the reason for that is that anytime i go play golf i have to go home (to get my dog) so i'll never be "without" my discs anyway. If i didn't have the dog? I'd probably leave mine in the trunk.

I've left mine in the car in the summer and they've gotten "gummy", but if it has a negative affect on the discs once they cool off then i haven't noticed.

Thanks for the PVC plans Kris, I'll probably build me one of these for my spares & trades!

Ditchell,

I have never had a problem with my discs in the trunk, of course I have either used boxes or these carriers to store my discs. These leave the discs up right and side by side.

I have only had one disc warp on me.... I left it on my dash in my old truck when it was almost 100 degrees outside, and the sun was hitting it all day. I was able to fix it with some creative oven work.
