I had a couple of coworkers from Huntsville in Bham Saturday to play golf. We played Trussville first. We ate lunch and then played GW.

GW looks maybe the best I have ever seen it. Whoever is doing the work around hole 1 has my thanks and, if I have the opportunity, a beer.

I have not been there in a long time. I think its only been once in 2006. GW is 45 minutes from my house now. I am grateful to whoever is doing all the work out there.

On another note, I hate to see even more trees coming down out there. Hole 1 looks like it is about to loose a key tree.

The only down side was watching two guys with a cooler full of beer hit up a disc golfer for $5. Some things may never change there.

Brian, the city of b'ham did that to hole 1's tee after someone on the board busted there ass on the sweet gum balls all over the ground. I guess thats what it takes to get the city involved on doing anything pertaining to discgolf in b'ham. How did your coworkers like civitan?

Actually, I found a lady with the Horticulture and Urban Developement dept. of the city who has a son that plays Ulty in H'ville. She met me one day during the winter and almost slipped on #1. She took charge of the project after a few months of returned phone calls. Many DGB members sent her a thank you, and she really liked that. I'm going for # 11 next.
BTW, that is the same dept that cuts down the dead/damaged trees.
Anyone going to Augusta? TK ?

They were impressed. I had told them coming in that it was a course with no gimme shots. So, they were prepared. They liked it. They felt it was fair, but hard. They play all the Huntsville courses in rotation weekly so they are not afraid of a challenge (like UAH) or the woods (Mastin).

They were cursing hole 2, but I think that was more from fear that the whole course would be that challenging. They seemed to like the start hard, end hard set up.
