Sorry for the short notice folks, but the meeting location was a little slow getting confirmation to us.
We will be discussing the status of the club and the upcoming tournaments we have on the schedule. Everyone is welcome to attend, we appreciate any input we can get!
We will be trying out a new location this meeting, the Hoover Public Library. Its about the same distance from both courses and they are letting us use the meeting rooms for free.
For a map to the library click here (http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=Hoover+City+of:+Circulation/Information&near=Birmingham,+AL&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=15&ll=33.392789,-86.798472&spn=0.026981,0.060124&iwloc=A).
The meeting will start at 7:30 and shouldn't take to long. After the meeting we'll probably have a few groups grab dinner nearby or maybe shoot some pool at bumpers up the street.
If you have any questions you can reach me at 531.8121 or at justin@discgolfbirmingham.com

Argh! Well sorry for the short notice. The library got back to us late. However we now have our dates set for our next few meetings so we should be able to get this out _much_ earlier next time!

I should make it Justin
Since I'll probably forget, Justin can you put this on the agenda (your pad):
Idea of fill material for around tee pads at GW that have eroded away badly like #9.
Patio stones for yonder tee's like #4 was way back? (To avoid the no concrete rule)
Thanks

concrete isn't the problem. To my knowledge the parks and rec didn't even want baskets back there, they just kinda showed up one day ;) . Its not a matter of the material is the fact of having anything back there at all. At least thats what I've heard.

We did get permission to install the baskets, the parks folks just decided to place an arbitrary no concrete tee pad rule.

Yes! Unfortunatly we are back ordered on Bag Tag's right now but I will have the members mini's on hand!
Of course, even non-members are welcome at the meeting, but only paid members have voting rights!

work in progress.
If you have a couple of the drawings done you should print out some samples to bring along.

Justin, never did get in touch with Andrew so Nikki and are going to go ahead with the dinner tonight at 7:00. I guess someone else will have to take the minutes at the meeting. Sorry but would not have been double booked if I had known in advance. It is 1:22 so I am going to get out and get some holes in before it gets any later:D BTW if you would maybe bring up at the meeting about getting a regular schedule on moving the baskets like Tusc has. Maybe the baskets could be divided up bt groups and each group be responsible for moving them when it was time. Hope yall have a good meeting, Nikki and I are going to eat our weight in wonderful northern cold water oysters before we even move on to dinner. Andrew thank you in advance for the wonderful dinner:D

I'm sure we'll touch on that, although Jeremy is the main person heading the project and he won't be able to make it either. I have quite a few questions about how it would work logistically so hopefully we can all sit down and talk it over soon.

Jeremy, I had to write and sign a letter with the City Parks and Rec that the holes would be "temporary". Likewise, we were not allowed to put any "permanent" structures (such as nice, flat concrete teepads) in the back six, obstensibly because they were planning to put in a Handicap-accessible walking track, and we all know that that hilly area back there would be great for that.....
Removal of material is not a permanent impact, and Jebb's work on the tee for Hole E was much appreciated. Certainly some other holes could use some similar efforts. One could argue that concrete tee pads are not permanent, in that they could be removed, but you didn't hear that from me.
With respect to concrete on the Back 6, politically speaking;
In no way should it be misconstrued that I do not disagree.

I worked on "D" today. Let me know how much more ya'll think it should be dug out.
Hole 12 tee @ Civitan is now flat and 11 feet long. Not as rocky as I would have guessed, but there was one on the right side that wont give it up. Its not going to be an issue though, concrete will cover it fine.
