Anybody else going up for this?

I'm considering sticking around for doubles Monday at Athens, considering i have an easy place to stay.

If i do play Monday i could use a partner willing to play advance...even if you're not going up for the Blast you could come up for Monday's tornament. Athens is about 90 minutesish.

If I am still living within a 8 hour drive of Huntsville at the end of May I will be at the Blast.

I am optomistic that I will find a job right away. But the likelyhood will have me move in June.

Good luck to you guys playing in the Blast. I was so close to changing my plans to NJ so that I could play, but the hope that I will be able to get over to NY is keeping me from changing. Plus having a 3:10 ratio of guys:girls was pretty overpowering. :D

Sorry, but I am not staying for doubles on Monday considering I leave town the following Tuesday. If I played doubles, I would not have a wife.:o

Is anyone interested in sharing a room at the host hotel? Or does anyone know of a H'ville local with a spare couch or room on the floor that might be willing to let me crash there? A couple of years ago when I played in my one and only Blast, some guy in my division (can't remember his name) let me and several other out-of-towners stay at his place.

I also am planning to leave on Friday. Don't know what time. TK, I'll call you when I'm heading that way to see where you're at.

Richard, you might want to try the Huntsville message boards to see if anyone has some space available. You can get to them at http://www.davidhunt.org

TK, Thats about the time I'm going to be getting into town as well. I'll give you call when i get close.

Vik, Bring a couple of those ladies back with you. We need some disc golf groupies.

Yeah, I think TK drew some tough luck...the first playoff hole was #1 at redstone. That big righty spike hyzer, so yeah...a tought shot.

I'll let Michael tell you his tournament story, haha.

Yeah, Micheal had a hard time starting at UAH. But that skip shot on #13 was sweet to watch, I don't think I could have done that if I tried.

Dispite my overall lackluster play, I actually set 3 personal bests on Huntsville courses in tournament play, and one personal worst on the new Mastin set up.

UAH 61 (best by 2 in the longs) - 55 in practice but we all know practice does not count.

Brahan Springs 50 (even it was my best, it is still pitiful, I only dropped 6 spots with that score, and I tied Tom Monroes personal worst):p

Redstone 56 - Felt really bad missing about 12 putts low that round:rolleyes:, Redsone is not that hard of a course. Witnessing a near 3 on #8 was awesome, poor Daniel was nervous as heck on his 20ft putt, poor guy was shaking so bad that he hit the bottom of the pole.

Mastin Lake 55 - Yeah, that was pitiful, bogeying the last hole from a simple duece putt was pathetic.

Overall, it was the best I have ever played in Huntsville, and the most fun I had. Each round I had great guys I played with and made some sweet trades in the parking lot after the tournament. I had a blast playing my last Alabama tournament as an Alabama resident. I will be back for the Century 21 tournament, hopefully I will be good enough to play Open for the cash!

I saw his upshot/2nd drive on that hole...pretty amazing stuff. Two 400ft + drives down a pretty tight corridor? Nice...
