New name for the same great tourney formally know as the ACE. The changes did not stop with the new name. In addition to sponsorship money the local Lions will be helping with many support duties. This should make the tourney run a little smoother and allow all players to concentrate on their own golf game. We will be PDGA sanctioned this year, B teir for the ams C teir for pros. We have some great looking INNcolor discs ordered, Wraiths and Aviars, $30 each. We will get these out to the course as soon as we get them in. ALL money from INNcolor sales will go to Boys & Girls Clubs in Limestone and Madison Counties as a sponsor has paid all the INNcolor expenses.

INNColor disc design can be found at:

Man, those Inncolor discs look good. That bridge is a larger verson of the one at the course in Chickasaw. I saw a disc fly through it once.
Let's all get behind this charity event. It is for a good cause.

I've played Athens once, is it still nine holes? If so is it 2 nines, 4 nines or how is the format? Just curious now that I've been in the official world of golf and not just my little group of deviants. Who may I say if they would play tournaments are capable of a hell of a game.

LeAnne, there are two course in Athen's, one at the college and one at the sports complex. The one at the college is still 9 or 10 holes I believe. The one at the sports complex is a very nice, open, pretty long 18 holes.

The guys in Athens _always_ put on a great tournament so if you interested this would be a great one attend.

Its good to hear we're starting to get a couple tournament players out of your group, the more new players we bring in the better disc golf in Birmingham gets! We'll have another of our mini's (single round tournaments) coming up in late January. Cheap entry fee and good times, talk'em into checking it out!

Thanks Justin. Most of the year I work pretty much every Saturday so alas I do not have the opportunity to play. But I will try to make more of a habit of Sunday doubles between Feb and Sept when I'm on the road on Saturdays

Thank you for the kind words Justin, we do try very hard to put on a good event. Last year this event raised over $1400 for the Boys & Girls Club, we want to at least double that this year.

The Sportsplex course was a 10 hole course for a year and a half. Last year just in time for this event we got 9 new holes installed. For this event it will be two rounds of 19 holes. BTW, the course at Athens State University has 6 holes.

It is great to hear that some Am women are planning on coming. I was not sure if we would have enough to offer an Women's Intermediate division, but we ordered a trophy anyway. Anyone would be proud to have one of these trophies.

If anyone would like to pre-register, please mail a check payable to North Alabama Boys & Girls Club to me at:
