Trussville Course Improvements

Hey everybody. Quick question to the powers that be at the Trussville course. My borther is 16 and is trying to get the ball rolling on his Eagle Scout project. For those who may not know what that is, he has to do a big service project to benefit the community in some way. I suggested improving the Trussville disc golf course (anything from more benches for the tee boxes, trash cans, bridges, etc). I need to know if this would be possible and who I would need to contact. Let me hear some feedback please. Thanks again. Greg

He can contact David Vinson at the Parks Dept. I'm sure he will be glad to see the Scouts working out there. Tell them to bring their choppers and wack out some privets that line fairways.

Greg, please talk to me or joe before cutting any privot on holes 2, 3 17, or 18, there is some to be cut but we don't want to just start cutting without knowing what to cut. There is alot that can be done out there just give me a call. 222-7792

Tim had the idea many months ago to get an Eagle Scout to do some improvements at the course. We came up with several ideas, including installing bridges, and excavating and lining the spring by Tee 6 with rocks.

We need bridges (in order of importance) on holes 18, 8, 11 and 6. Ths might be the best choice as we already have a good supply of pressure treated lumber specifically earmarked for bridges. It would be ideal to talk to you and your brother about some bridge building ideas and techniques in order to put together his Eagle Scout proposal. It is something that would be really appreciated!! Hey there. Thanks for all the great input. No one is going to be cutting anything down or doing ANYTHING until a proper planning process and all clearance has been granted by those in charge (I am guessing that is Joe and TK). I was simply feeling this out for my brother to see if this is something that would be posible for him to do. It sounds like there is a need for such improvements. I am going to give him both of your numbers and let him talk to you guys and you can tell him specifcally what needs to happen. He is just going to bascially need to know what you would like done so he can submit his proposal to the Eagle Scout board for approval. Thanks again guys.
