Well not sure if anyone knows but, there is another DG course in the area. I will only say that it is in a Dirt bike riding park. I was out riding on Satterday and rode right by the baskets. I will be contacting them to find out the ins and outs on the course!
Does anyone know where I am talking about? If not I will wait until talking to the owners to figure out why no one knows about it. They may want to keep it that way but, I hope not. Funny thing is that it is very close to the new course. hint, hint
Anyone?????

you are right TK when I said close, I suppose it would be about 3 exits North of the Tville exit and would be more in Springville and it is not Jerry's course. It is about 700 ac. and is varied terrain. Call me and you maybe of some helpout there.:D

Are y'all talking about the Crosspoint course ? It is just north of Trussville, really the Argo area. It shows up on the PDGA course directory, but only when you are using the "Google Map" search. It's tricky though, because the "basket" is almost directly behind the Civitan Park "basket". It is affiliated with CrossPoint Baptist Church. The course info is below. Hope this helps !

I saw the youth minister at civitan park, and he said they have pulled the course because of new construction, so do drive up there for nothing.

Isn't Ross (and his dad) the same guy that helped Joe Thacker put in the course at GW? I am rather sure he helped with tee pads also.
What happened to the kite store dude that helped? Howard Something??? Does he still play?

Ron, you are correct on both people. The church course was pulled to facilitate more construction. The Kite Store closed years ago. He never really played much. But, he was a pretty neat guy, and sold a lot of discs.
As for Bob's secret course, it is a work in progress and might have 18 holes by spring time. Right now you can go up there and rent a motcross bike and ride for miles on some cool trails.
The web site is <ridgeline.com > ?. Maybe Tim can tell us.?

It is in springville area and baskets are out there but appears to be hard to find your way around. Still some of the best land in the area with endless potential.

After riding this weekend at the ridge the word is that they will be buying Jerry's baskets and completing the 18 hole course in the near future. They are in the process of building lakes and other hazards for the course. I will say that this land is very nice and has endless potential.
The only downside is that it cost 5 bucks just to get in but, when was the last time you played ball golf for a fin?

Well the 18 baskets are in the ground at the RIDGE in Springville! The course is fairly well marked but, if you go on a riding day you better be on the lookout as some of the holes cross the kids track.
I did talk to the owner and we discussed that it needed some tweaking around the track. They have a bright future up there as they seem to be doing lots of projects at one time.
You can check them out on the web but, there is no mention of the course.

Since I did not ask I am not 100% sure but, ANYONE can get onto the property for $5. Since I just had shoulder surgery I played a few holes sidearm and never had any problems. I will call them and see!
Happy new year!

they also have a forum on there and I am sure if we started some chatter it would let them know there is an interest. They have cabins and the works!

Is it weekends only, or can you play during the week?
TK
Below is an email I sent to The Ridge last week. Their response sounds like they haven't opend the course yet and that it may be for campers only.

Hi,
First let me say that it looks like you are creating a great recreational facility at "The Ridge.". I wish you the best of luck with all that you do.
I am a member of Disc Golf Birmingham and I was hoping to get some info on the use of your new disc golf course. I don't see any info on your web site so I was wondering whether the course was open for use. I was also wondering if the course was going to be open during the week? Have you established what your fees are going to be? Last, do you have any idea what the cabins are going to cost per day?
You might want to consider going to the DGB web site http://www.discgolfbirmingham.com/ and post any info you want to get out to the local disc golf community. Birmingham has a very active disc golf community and I am sure if you post any info on the site, you will get plenty of disc golfers at the course.
Again, best of luck with "The Ridge" and I hope to be up to see you soon.
Thanks,

The disc golf course is still a work in progress and not quite finished.
We really just built it so that the campers would have something to do after riding. We haven't made any decisions on if we are going to open it up to non-riders or if it would be open during the week. You can find the cabin rental information on our website under the camping page.

Bill, that maybe before I talked with him. I was there 2 days ago and am helping them getting discs for display and retail. We also discussed people playing there and many other details. He said anyone is welcome to come play the course. Yes it is a work in progress."not being negative but needs some D" And some of the holes are right over the Pee wee track and it is a good thing the kids where helmets! There is a 5 dollar non riding fee. They are not open during the week!!!! Execpt some Fridays and I think that is for gold members only.
I will be back there on Friday and Saturday and will keep you posted. I also mentioned to him about us going on there forum and posting there. It maybe faster than emails.
Bob
Sounds good Bob.
Hope to make it up that way one day to check everything out.
It certainly would be nice to have someplace else to play even if it is pay-to-play.

cool, I registered about a week ago - just waiting to be activated.

Played with the owners which are 2 brothers named Josh. The course is now well marked and rather fun with a lot of variety. In the summer when the apples and other vine fruit are ripe there will be sevral holes with food on site:D
They are open Friday, Sat. and Sunday 9 am till dark. They willing be selling discs there in a few weeks so, help support them if you can.
