I figured he wouldn't brag on himself, so I'll do the honors. I hear JD had a pretty ace on #3 in his afternoon round. Congrats, good going, all that! I was incredibly proud of myself today just to get my first birds ever on 6 and 9, not easy holes for me...
Hit my first one today, 5 mos and 11 days since I started playing. Hole #8 at Brahan Springs in Huntsville - skipped in a star wraith. Ended up smooth for the round :p

Congrats Justin... has to feel great. I have this sneaking suspicion that Tracy is going to wind up getting one before me. She has come really close 3 times now on the first extended hole at Ward and a few times at the parks where we're from in Tupelo, MS.
Congrats Justin....
I'm going to assume you didn't mean to type Justin...he hasn't posted in this thread :)

Haha...If only i could get an ace in the state of Alabama. I had to go all the way to Kentucky to get my first (and only) one.
I have actually hit basket on that same hole Jebb....awesome.
I bet Jeremy is going to love reading this...haha.

oh yeah, I'm practically giddy about it :p . lol, congrats jebb... just sucks I can't throw a disc til next year basically so my aceless streak must continue
The cool thing is (and Michael and Sam can verify) is that i was draining some unbelievable 100+ foot birds after that for about 3 or 4 more holes. (Sam kept saying "GET THE #!*% OUTTA HERE!!") I was certainly feeling the good disc golf energy that round, then I ended up smooth after the sun went down shortly after and I couldnt see the baskets any more.
Michael said you would LOVE to hear about this Jeremy :D If its any consolation I was starting to feel the same way after hearing about J.D. hitting his first ace @ GW about 48 hrs earlier.
p.s. NOW Justin has posted in this thread ;)

Sorry for the name confusion Jebb, sometimes when I post from work I have to do so in a big hurry before someone sees how I'm really spending my days. Can't wait till I can post my own name in a thread like this...
Tupelo courses have ace plates to sign... would be cool to have something like that at ours.

BTW, a couple of other things...
Why can't you throw anymore this year Jeremy?
Justin (Yes, I mean it this time), could we put certain threads as sticky threads on the forums? Things like Hole Positions, Latest Aces, Tourney Info, other suggestions... I think it would be nice to quickly be able to look up such information.
Jebb, sounds like you've been hitting a lot of different courses, you should go check out Tishamingo or Tupelo's courses with us sometime.

Jebb, tour bags and Star Orcs are in. There may be room in the new bag for an Ace or two.

I'm not a big fan of alot of "stuff" at the top of a forum, but I've bee thinking about installing a "toolbar" on the left side of the page that has a navigation pane, Doubles box (like on the main page), so maybe I can add something in that would help that as well! Thanks for the idea! Now if i can just get some free time to work on it...haha.
I've seen this idea implemented well elsewhere by making ONE sticky thread and then within it placing links to all the other informational threads (which dont need to be stickied).
This way it would be easy to have a large informational sticky thread at the top with links to other threads like a directions to the courses thread, basket locations thread, doubles info/dates/times thread, etiquette thread, bag tag thread, aces thread, matching usernames to real names thread, etc...
I keep nagging Justin to make me a mod or admin - I'm happy to help out with this without going overboard :)

Very sorry to hear that Jeremy. Here's to a speedy recovery. Look forward to seeing you out there as soon as possible... perhaps you'll have to give up soccer for a pro disc golf career...

Take it easy and be careful, blood clots can be very nasty if they break loose. I am sure your doctors already told you the horror stories.

Well this was my last season to play soccer at such a competitive level anyway so I guess in a way I am giving up soccer for a pro disc golf career 8-). But also, I did indeed develop a blood clot in my right leg... so I have to deal with that now. Good news is kidney feels great, bad news is I still have to sit out cause I can barely move my leg :p Oh well... somtimes karma just doesn't kick you... it shoves its foot as deep as it can

Many signatures are on the back of the number plates. That is, the targets with number plates.

Well, guess what Drake... I get to add my name to the list. I met up with Kris Allen today after work and played Burke Lake Course in Fairfax, VA. #6 is a 240 to 250 ft tree guarded hole with one narrow sidearm entrance... Well, I NAILED it!! Straight into the chains, the hair stood up on my neck, and I'm just now coming down from the euphoria. Wow, I'm glad Kris was nice enough to take me out golfing today.

Was that your first one?

I have seen this hole Aced three times, however the other two times were down the EASY RHBH hyzer route....Matt decides to take a s-curve side arm down the left heavily guarded side and gets it.
My shot was an ace run too but it hit the last tree.
You should have seen the hole before, we both nailed 75-80ft putts for dueces.
Matt played really well, and it was great to meet him and finally play a round with one of the new Birmingham guys. Basically the "club" doubled in size since I left.

Well, I had to revive this thread just to get this darn thing out of my system. Played with Tracy, Michael, Thomas and Jebb at the H'Ville Ice Bowl on Saturday and had a wonderful time...but one little thing has been haunting me. I actually kept up with the other B'Ham guys on this course, now if I can just do the same at Ward one of these days.
My group started on 14 and by the time we got to 16 I felt like I was going to have a pretty good day. The hole is a wide open BH Straight to Slightly Hyzered route, but I thought I saw a nice S-sidearm route in there. I throw my Tee-Rex (yeah I'm still so short I throw a Tee-Rex on a ~260 hole) and it goes overstable really quick.
"Fore! Fore! oh wait it might hit that little tree, no Fore!!!!"
So the guys on the next tee got to witness what was to become my worst shot of the day (baskets and tees were pretty close in spots at Brahan Sprgs). After that I was only about 60' away, but I knew that my shot was there and I had just missed it a little.
"Wait! We bought three mulligans and I can't stand having all those guys over there laughing under there breath at my inadequate side-arm, my side-arm is all I really have <I thought to myself>"
"MULLIGAN, yeah guys I want my mulligan.:D "
So I stepped up (now minus my trusty Tee Rex:) ) and tried to make the route I had in mind work with a Star Wraith. It was pretty much the same flick I threw on the first shot (I just chose the wrong disc, the Tee Rex was like a security blanket from worm-burners for me lately) but this flick was sailing pretty. Yep, there was space between those trees. At about 40' out I was pretty sure it was going to hit something... then SMASH!!!! It was full on chain action and I started to celebrate internally. Then Tracy (realizing we would have gas money for our next dgb trip lets out a full on "WOOOHOOOOO!" which crescendos in my mind and then dies as quickly as I realize this disc is sliding right through the chains and dribbling out the backside. I lost my second ace, but a mulligan ace would have been like a birdie or circle 3 anyway right?
This was only my second time to hit metal from the tee and I only hope I get to feel that sensation a few more times before I die...
I took my time making that 2 foot putt for the *birdie and savored every last bit I could from the Ace that was now lost.
"Nice Mulligan" chuckled the guys from 17 as we walked up.

first off, let me just say I feel your pain... anyone who played that round with me last week knows exactly what I mean as 8 people (3 in my group and 4 teeing off at A) saw me nearly ace D. Its a great feeling to hit chains dead center and then such a low one to watch it slide out. Been a while since I've hit chains though, so I can't complain.
