I don't know how many of you have ever heard of SAAC (student athlete advisory committee) but the UAB chapter which I am a member of has decided they want to hold some sort of disc golf event this january. They want it to be a kind of welcome back from christmas break event for all the athletes and they're really excited about it. My point with this post is to see if any of you would be willing to help me out in running some sort of tournament (and I think they wouldn't mind having the rest of the southside and bham community involved) for athletes many of whom have never even heard of our sport. Tentatively the name for the event is "Disc for Dollars" with the procedes going towards local charities and our athletic department. I'll keep you guys informed as to our progress but hopefully we can get this rolling and it may even help me in my other endeavor to get a UAB team started

Tracy and I would be interested in lending a hand at least. What is the fundraising model for the charities? I don't know what sort of help you could use, but let us know if we could help.

Yep,

Am back to earth. Am scheduled to meet with the UAB Alumni Chapters in very near future. I am free today, Sunday pm for a few brief moments.

If indeed UAB's interested in pulling together DISC GOLF, then maybe the UAB Alumni can display articles within the UAB ALUMNI MAILER (monthly, else quarterly, not certain.)

If someone can reach me today, brief me on the interest, then I'll try to find a way to inform UAB Alumni across America to hear about such. Never know, they may find a way to make special donations...
