Saturday August 7th (or sunday the 8th, can someone tell me if the colleges are doing pre-season on sat?) I would like to do a Summer sizzler warm up. I would also like it to be SN points ( Josh Lennox if you coild PM me on some info). It will be a basket fundraiser going to DGB to replace the baskets. Jebb is the man to start the $3.00 for course improvements in the area. This will be a DGB party if you will... Bill Thorton style... Maybe bring in the moving bonus to the club for unloading his things. Also I'm going to match it with one more of the moving special;), and hook up the food. No field limit we will be using the both courses.. But before this goes into solid state on the tournament forum. Would anyone like to add thoughts, ideas, concerns. Remember it would be SN:D:D:D

Got the SN info, one concern is it being a DGB event were beer is served... Proceeds go to DGB for baskets and were they see fit. DGB is in no way running this event. I'm not a officer by any means.. Now at the beaver state fling they had kegs for all lunches. Don't ask me. Now i think this might be a afternoon start with a Glow round to finish.. But SN has a event on saturday so it would have to be sunday.. Maybe no glow bein a sunday night

James I hope your not thinking of having kegs of beer at either trussville course, I will have to object to that. I worked way to long and hard to get 2 courses in trussville and I will not have my relationship with the park board jeprodized with alcohol in the park.

Don't get me wrong, I love beer as much as anyone, but the trussville courses are NOT the place for kegs, especially the Carter course.

sounds good, i was going to call and ask you that. My question at the parks in trussville is each area has different rules. For instance, the carter course would be dusk to dawn, being apart of the trails and specifically says no alcohol. The park rules are closed from 11:00pm to 6:00am, no glass containers, Nothing specific about alcohol. Their soccer fields have their own specific laws in accordance to the soccer association of trussville??? Now, i see plenty, actually more then that of the GW at the LeMasters course of beer in cuzzies from the other areas being used and the sports complex which is not disc golf related. TK you should see this also.

My question, is their a solution to have a Disc party..??

I'm going to the court house in Trussville and specifically ask someone about this issue..See if their is a permit that may be filled out

I'm in touch with the court house now... settle down TK, you just don't like to admit all the drunks are actually in trussville community of the city.. I'm not specifically talking disc golf

YOU INCLUDED

Team Discraft advice for a new player to extend his distance= Anhyzer Bomb.. (the guy was throwing about 275, i would think his mechanics in his throw might be looked at 1st).. That advice was the same I got from these cats when I 1st met them years ago and put my game years behind.

I would imagine, similar to if you were having a wedding reception or party or something like that in a "no-alcohol" park if you spoke with the city and got a permit it wouldn't be a problem. That being said, its not the end of the world if you can't get it ;)

If you can get permits and assume nobody will act a fool its all good. On the other hand accepting responsibility for everyone drinking in a public park might not be to wise.lets just have another tournament added to the schedule. BYOB

So after a great conversation with both the court house and parks department. it is unfortunate that it is a City Ordinance. (now friday nights at the tennis club, it is mixed doubles from 5:30 to 10:30 bring a plate and DRINK, with vending machines at their club house what would they be bringing???).

Now the parks and court clerks are very nice and great people to work with, and with yet another beautiful course brought in by TK, and thank you again. We should help in his effort to keep a great relationship with them.

The parks guy did say that they have opened the ordinance at the civic center, but in much conversation already I failed to ask if they would sponsor the use out for 2hrs.... While we had dinner. Maybe I will bother them once more at a later date.

Anyways I will get the event Flyer together and post it to the tournament site, a warm up will be going on in effort to bring baskets back to the parks from which they were taken, all other proceeds will go towards tee signs and other needed things at the Carter course.. I would not be in charge of those needs so I feel DGB could be responsible for such funds, and giving it as needed. I still want it to be SN so sunday, August the 8th.. 2 rounds, playing for trophies, pro will be a $10 More on entry. Which they will break that ten down from entries in. I would say winner takes it. 25 for all other divisions. out of that 25, 2 will come out for SN points, 2 for a great lunch provided at park, and a dollar towards trophies.

So 20 from each entry will go towards baskets and what not...

Thank you all for concerns in, even you TK
