View Full Version : March 6 GWP Clean-Up

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the morning of March 6. It is National Clean Up Day and the Glen Iris Neighborhood Association organizes it for the neighborhood. Start time is 9:00 AM and the meeting place is the Tennis Court Parking lot. There will be some tree planting in the neighborhood and maybe some in the park (none in fairways), along with litter clean up of the whole park. UAB will be helping again this year. Please come out and volunteer.

Also a great opportunity to show that the disc golf community is big on environmentalism and playing well with others ;)

This happened last year. They give out bags for trash pickup and gloves.
If enough show up, we can knock it out in an hour or so and play before lunch.

I'm doing the ASPO 8k over in Trussville, but I'll be coming afterwards....assuming I can still walk, haha!

Stop at #3 to pick up garbage bags etc. Big load of mulch delivered to our parking lot.
I'll bring a pitchfork if someone can bring a truck?

I'd planned on coming to help tomorrow but wasn't able to get off work.. I'll be done around 2 be up there with my truck around 2:30 so if you haven't had any luck by then I'd be more than happy to help

True that. Lot's of trash picked up and a bunch of new trees and mulch. Good going.

Sorry I couldn't make it early, but when I took one of the kids to the playground late afternoon we picked up some trash in the vicinity :)

If y'all need some mulch, feel welcome to the pile. I will even help spread it around the tee pads and such, just let me know when.
