Trace Open Amateur Tournament - Aug 8th & 9th

The Trace Open-Amateur is both a SNDG and a PDGA C-tier Tournament for the Junior, Novice, Recreational, Intermediate and Advanced Master divisions.

This tournament held at the beautiful Trace State Park, in Belden, MS (just outside of Tupelo).
The players will use the original Old Warrior Run Disc Golf Course.

When: August 8th & 9th, 2009

Where: Trace State Park, Belden Mississippi.

Cost:
$25 Juniors (Boys and Girls)
$25 Novice
$35 Recreational
$35 Intermediate (Am's)
$35 Advanced Masters
**Non-Junior PDGA members will receive a $5 discount.
**The field will be capped at 90 players.

Registration:

Friday registration, August 7th: 6 pm - 9 pm
Saturday registration, August 8th: 7:30 am - 9 am (or until the tournament fills)

Format:
There will be 3 rounds.

Saturday, August 8th:
Players Meeting will be at 9:30 am
1st round tee off with be all at 10 am
2nd round tee off will be 1 hour after the last card is turned in

Sunday, August 9th:
3rd round tee off will be at 9 am

The Intermediate and Advanced Master divisions will play the long tees for the second and third round. We may also add some surprises to the third round.

All other divisions will play from the short tees on the standard course for all three rounds.

Additions: Every player will receive a hot stamped ROC and other exciting items in their players package.

Zach Hudson and his son are currently moving the Trace State Park's baskets into the "Original" locations,
for the Trace Open AM tournament.

For all who need to get some practice on this setup, we hope to see you this weekend.

The AM basket locations are competitive, but not extremely hard to play.
Under-Par scores are achievable for AM's who think their throws out.

The schedule and details have been updated and can be found at Trace Open Amatuer Details (http://www.traceopen.com/amateur-tournament). The players packages will contain an Old Venice Hot stamp DX ROC, Disc Unlimited minis and other items. We have Trace Open logo hot stamps that will be used for some payouts and the rest will be sold on a first come first serve basis. The Trace Open Logo hot stamps come in three models and several colors. (Champion Teebirds, Pro Wraiths and R-PRO Ontario Rocs).

Registration can be done through www.TraceOpen.com or at the park Friday 6pm-9pm and Saturday 7am-9am. There will be a random draw ($5) Am only doubles at 5pm on Friday.

Format:
Junior/Novice will play special short Tees all 3 rounds.
Recreational will play normal short Tees all 3 rounds.
Intermediate/Advanced Masters
Round 1: Short Tees
Round 2: Long Tees
Round 3: Long Tees plus Gold Tee pads to short baskets on holes 10, 14 and 17.

Additions: Every player will receive a Old Venice hot stamped DX ROC and other exciting items in their players package.

We have limited number of Trace Open Hot stamp discs that will be given to winners and some will be available for sale. They are R-pro Ontario Rocs, pro Wraiths and Champion Tee birds.

We will also be running a Basket toss.
The prize is a DiscCatcher Traveler with a selection of added discs.
Basket Toss Rules A basket will be set up about 120' away in the center of a 10' radius circle. There will be a qualifying round followed by a CTP round. During the qualifying round a player will be awarded 1 throw in the CTP round for every throw they land within the circle. If a player makes the basket during the qualifying round then they will earn two throws during the CTP round. The winner of the prize will be the disc closes to the basket during the CTP round.

Each throw costs $1. A player may purchase as many throws as they wish.

Schedule:
Friday: 6pm-9pm Registration/Check In
5pm Am only Random Draw Doubles;
Qualifying round for basket Toss begins

Saturday:
7am-9am Registration/Check In
Qualifying round for basket Toss
9:30am Players Meeting
10am Round 1 Tee off

Qualifying round for basket Toss
Round 2 will be an hour after the last card is turned in.

Sunday:
Qualifying round for basket Toss
9am Round 3 Tee off
