GW Night game - meet Sept 22 @ 8:00PM (new moon this Fri) and we'll get started around 8:15. Will be playing an earlier daylight round and placing glow sticks on all the baskets just prior to dark. Since all the baskets are in short positions this should be a lot of laughs and a totally different challenge on our home course. We'll do all 24 holes sans-vision :D
*We'll try to stay in groups of 3 or 4 for general safety.
*Bring a flashlight or headlamp. UV (blacklight) is preferrable, but white light is acceptable - depends a lot on how well your disc glows and if you feel comfortable finding it if it gets out of sight...glow discs actually need a good UV light charging prior to throw, plus having a UV lamp helps locate glow discs. If you're taping glow or LED lights to a candy disc, you dont really need a UV black light, but please bring a normal flashlight http://dev.discgolfbirmingham.com/forums/images/icons/icon3.gif
*Be sure you either have glow disc(s) or 1.5" LED lights to tape on your candy discs, otherwise you WILL NOT want to play @ night. Tom Monroe has some candy discs on hand in the mobile pro shop for I think $15. I should have 1.5" glow stick minis that can be duct-taped to the inside of a candy disc, two for a buck.
*Bag tag challenges are fair game.
*Play at your own risk, it will be dark and much easier to fall, etc. Let it be known beforehand that 'officially' we're not to be in the park after dark, so a police officer or serious injury/incident can call this off at any moment. Also, rain IS in the forecast (very slightly), so wear good shoes with appreciable tread on the soles in case. We plan on playing even if the course is wet assuming there's no lightning or its not raining too hard at tee time. Lightning will be an automatic no-play.
If you plan on showing up, please post here. For anyone wishing to donate, I put a $2 paypal link on my webpage (http://www.jebb.net). Feel free to donate as many multiples of two as you can do! http://dev.discgolfbirmingham.com/forums/images/icons/icon3.gif
