By Brian Mace from mACEman Disc Golf Gear in Texas.....

Skip down to the part about the Future of events and business.

Sad to see Brian getting "burned out" after 14+ years...

This will be the first year for the "Big Show" not to happen in North Texas in a looong time.

Yeah, that's how Mace made his living....he ran events on the way to the next big event. Pros & Ams got paid in plastic. It was his only source of income though....no 'real' job.

I wonder why he stood y'all up? Maybe his van broke down on the way!

Same guy here.

I see a lot of what Mace Man said right here in River City.

I'm tired of people assuming vendors who sell golf discs "etc" are going to get "rich". I'm tired of fighting with people who for the most part are selfish and self-centered.

I'm getting to the point, after an eye opening SN experience this summer, of quitting organized disc golf as far as running events, chasing sponsors while others sit on their asses then wonder why we don't have big events.

Russ, those who know, appreciate what you have done. Those who complain the most, usually don't do anything. It's like that everywhere. There are lot's of old TD's and promoters that have burned out because many players did not understand what all goes in to making something happen.
There is an old saying, "nothing happens, until something is sold". Many players think, it should all be for free. I'm speaking from what I have learned from organizers from all over the country over the last 20 years. Sad , but true. That is why the ones that stick with it, do it for love , not money. Hang in there.
