I wonder if they redirected their DNS and are having propogation problems. I get a timeout from my desk with no resolution. On my laptop (with VZW wireless) I get a maintenance page.

Hardly anyone uses 48 hr TTL cache times any more (most modern DNS defaults to no caching). I suspect technical difficulties on a larger scale.

I must be a geek because I know what they all stand for too. :p

They are launching the new improved site, I hear it is really nice.

I have no idea why they have to take the old one done several days before bringing up the new one.

Thanks Will.

What a shame they're keeping the UBBthreads bulletin board software. vBulletin (what we use here) is light years ahead of everything out there.

Not a big fan of Drupal either, but they could have done worse.

Looking forward to seeing the new site - sneak peek screenshot:

From the looks of that screen shot, I like the new look, reminds me of the 1000rated homepage.

I guess they havnt finished polishing up the new version in time for usdgc, so were stuck with the old skool site instead. As long as I can see up to date scores it doesn't make any difference.

pdga site back down. My browser times out. It sucks bc Im trying to write my work schedule for next year and make sure I have certain weekends off for big tourneys. To bad one of you guys couldnt get the contract. DGB is rarely down and that seems to be the exception and not the rule online.

we've actually been having a lot of outages with our current web host, but they tend to be server reboots when some other hosted client hoses the same shared server we're on.

Justin L

Yeah, outages happen. Extended ones are annoying though. The biggest problem with our outages is like Jebb says, usually it isn't something we caused. Luckily they seem to happen at off hours most of time though.

Here's our uptime report from last month, it's probably about average for public non e-commerce websites

Gosh, do they really need to take the site down for this long to make a new page? they should of just made a old.pdga.com and redirected it for a little while.

Jebb

yeah, pretty amateurish way to make a website transition for sure.

Well for whatever reason it's been down this long, I hope it's worth the wait. :D

(Haha, just a thought, but what if when they get the new site up and running, they find out a bug has wiped everyones ratings, stats and everything out. Everyone now has to start from scratch, EVERYONE!)

Or drive for 6 hours to attend the biggest women's event in the sport. I guess Huntsvegas isn't a big enough draw.

So, I noticed noones commented on this lately but, wtf is up with the new site?

Maybe its me not looking hard enough or I dunno but I can't seem to find where I need to input my number to look at my stats or others stats as I used to be able to and I can't seem to find the pdga tour section that list all the tournaments for this month and months to come or past months for that matter.

Not impressed so far, I want my old pdga site back. =/

Will, the old site was hacked and all previous planning had to be scrapped. I do think the 'security reviews' of late (reason given for delays) are a bit overzealous though.
