I am not trying to be mean, but cutting a large chunk out of that tree on your way to hole 18 was not that smart. Eventually, the tree will cave in and really hurt someone. Has/Will anything be done about this soon? I was walking with a friend last week and he put a good bit of stress on it. While it may not cave in right away, it will in the future. All that is to say, it should have never been cut in the first place. Now that it is, it should be taken care of before someone gets seriously hurt!

Not to be rude but, at least SOMEONE is trying to fix the problem of the tree being there! At least you realize it IS a possibly dangerous situation and can AVOID injury. It really is the fault of the City of Trussville Parks. It is their responsibility to rectify any potentially hazardous situations on park property.

With that said, DO NOT come on here, a VOLUNTEER organization and chastize someone's hard work to try to clear the debris from the storms!!

At least they are DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT and sacrificing their PLAY time so you can ENJOY yours!

How many branches did you clear when you were out there and saw this tree? I hope it was at least one.:o

I don't know who did it, but I say GOOD JOB! KEEP IT UP!

Frankly, I'm embrarassed that I wasn't there to HELP THEM DO IT! I've been a little busy lately.;)

End of rant.

I understand your feelings about this Mikester and agree that it is dangerous, but send your comments to the City of Trussville Parks, not DGB.

Mike,

I did that on my lunch break last week, and also cleared the over hanging privot on 18.
I only had 30 minutes for lunch. Dude don't freak out, it will be finished cutting before it falls in. I did that temporarily so it is easier to step over for now. post your number and i will call you when i go out and finish it and you can help. i plan on having a workday after the USDGC to try and clear the left side of 17's fairway. or feel free to get your chainsaw and start any time, every little bit helps when you are able to get out.

Fair enough guys, what it appeared to be was that someone cut out a "chunk" to make it easier to step over... not to try and clear it out of the way
