This can be used for a posting of needed supplies and surplus supplies so that we can better coordinate the improvements for our courses.

I did not know it was illegal to sell Bamboo. Does anyone know where we can access it? I think it will really improve the intent of the rough guarding #11's long basket.

For the Golden George I need hay bales. Just like #17 at USDGC Winthrop Gold. I need to make a circle with a circumference of 95ft. I think hay bales are 4ft in length, so that is 24 bales of hay.

Does anyone know where we can get these materials?

Hey Kris, I know there is a stand of bamboo off of Overton Road. Take 459 East to Grant's Mill ROad, go south on Grant's Mill and turn right onto OVerton. Look for a large bamboo stand on the south side of the road app 200 yards in. You might try a neighborhood hardware store (84 Lumber etc.) for the bales.

Kris,
Most cattle farms have gone to round bails. It's a whole lot easier on the back, trust me. I'll ask around and see if I can borrow some, but 24 is a lot. You'ld almost have to have a trailer to pick them up if you wanted to go more than a short distance. I'll tell you this though, nobody will give them to you for free. Like I said, they might loan you some. Your best bet is to come up with another idea.

I do have other options, they may not be as appealing, but they are feasible. Plus I never thought about getting them for free.

There is a landscape supplier in Hoover that can get me Pine Straw bales for $4 a piece. We would have to pick them up, and they do not need that much lead time.

All we would need is someone with a full sized pick up truck to volunteer to pick them up on Friday the 21st.

I am thinking we should order these for hole #2 at the GG. I will start soliciting for 5-10 bucks from everyone to help cover the costs.

Afterwards we can use them the over erroded areas of the course to help prevent further erosion. Although we might not want to put them on areas where players are walking, that would be dangerous.

Let me know who can help with this. Thanks!

Ouch...$100 for hay...

Just thinking outside the box here, but I'm guessing the object is to basically just keep the discs from sliding/low skip out of the circle.....

What about corrugtaed drainage pipe? C = Pi x D right? So that would be 3.14 * 60 = 188.4ft.

Hrmm...i have no idea how much that stuff costs, but what is something else (cheap) we could get 200ft of that has _some_ kind of vertical substance to it.
