Please do not leave cups, soda bottles, candy wrappers, etc. on and around the course. I know it's not everyone, but a few can spoil it for the rest of us. It never fails each time I go play at Trussville or GW, I pick up trash someone else has left behind. There are plenty of trash cans around, for example, at T'ville, you can make it from #3 tee pad to #4 where there is a trash can. Stop the madness!

Yeah, I hate when I walk up to a tee pad and someone has left trash there when a trash can is nearby.
I try to keep plastic grocery bags at the bulletin board at GW for those that want to help out. I have hundreds of bags so if we run out just let me know and I will bring more. I even made some trash pick-up sticks that are up in the rafters of the BB.

seeing people just toss cigarette butts on the course sucks too.

please take 5 extra seconds, knock off the cherry and put the butt in your bag's drink holder until you see a garbage can!!

I have a trunk full of cigarette butts right now because of my bag falling over, but this is much better than the alternative of having a course full of butts... Be kind, rewind.

Not smoking at all? That would be way too healthy!!! BTW, I just heard a study that says pot carcinogens are 5 times more deadly than tobacco!

That study wasn't conducted by the Bush administration by any chance?

its not the actual pot, but all the other stuff. They're less filtered so yes technically speaking the carcinogens are worse.

If you get a hold of some Mexican brown that's been sprayed repeatedly with all sorts of pesticides, maybe. But what is "all the other stuff" on organic, indoor, homegrown?

I just saw a vending machine for those who get the Rx's for it in Northern Ca. Put in $20 , out comes your bud.

i heard about that machine on npr. the vending machine looks like a Darth Vadar helmet, it reads your script card and scans your thumb print.

That reminds me of this Mitch Hedberg quote:

"I like vending machines, because snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar in a store, sometimes I will drop it so it will reach its maximum flavor potential."

I wonder if pot is better when it falls?

well yeah if you handle the entire process of development by yourself then you wouldn't have to worry about that. But on average how many people actually grow their own stuff? You assume what you're getting is good but you have no idea unless you're a chemist and break it down to determine what its made up of. So yes, they are correct when they say pot is 5 times more carcinogenic.

I wonder if that study took dose size into account?

On average, marijuana might be 5 times more carcinogenic, but the average smoker might smoke 10x as much tobacco as the average marijuana user. That would effectivly make tobacco twice as cancer causing as marijuana.

Tiger I would recommend reading the book Marijuana Myths Marijuana Facts its written by a MD and a PHD who are experts on the subject.(Like youve got time to read right now:eek:) As a matter of fact the AMA about 10 years ago offically changed their policy on the effects of marijuana and every major study beginning with Nixons 1972 report on the dangers of illicit drugs has recommended the decriminalization of marijuana. Marijuana has never killed anyone, how many people each year die from acetaminaphine or ibuprofin or asparin for that matter. Did you know who the biggest corporate sponsors of the war on marijuana are-big tobacco and the big 3 beer manufactors esp Coors.
Im so sure they are interested in our health. Certainly anything can be abused, but can you explain why marijuana is a class I drug while both opiates and cocaine are schedule II. At this point I believe it is 18 states have some sort of decriminalization.
I would guess that outside of that nasty brown mexican shit that probably has been sprayed by whatever is the most toxic chems allowed in Mexico that a great deal of the domestic and Canadian bud is more organic than the food you find in grocery store. Even those grown with traditional fertilizers are in general flushed bf picking to get rid of the chemi taste from what I understand.
I missed the thing on NPR, but all the Cali prop 215 paperwork Ive seen is just that a note from the doctor and not a card and that stuff is definately California organic. Most towns of any size already have medicinal dispenceries, and in Cali. if you are a grower who sells to the dispenceries then you receive a 1099 tax form from the despenceries that list your occupation as a pot farmer, and these people are paying local state and federal taxes on their crops.
If you look at the major brands of organic fertalizers sold across the US most of the companies are based out of northern cali. To try and compare marijuana with cigerettes is just silly. Major tobacco companies add things to cigs that for incidence make them burn faster that are almost as bad as the tobacco smoke itself. Thats why you will see some people smoke organic tobacco. Second of all you dont have to smoke marijuana you can also eat it, or use it in a vaporizer in which the essential oils are evaporated off of the bud. Third it is simply impossible to smoke as much marijuana as it is tobacco. Ive known people who could smoke 3 or 4 packs of cigs a day, but even when Ive visited friends with 215 cards in Cali no one smoked the equivalent of a pack a day.

trust me, I don't agree with the fact that marijuana is illegal while tabacco and alcohol are both legal. At the same point, it is still hazardous (just as much so as smoking anything else) simply because you're introducing substances into your lungs that damage them, period. It'll never be made illegal because we make so much money off of busting people incolved in its production. I don't smoke anything out of personal choice but I also don't judge. You should be allowed to do what you want but its still just as bad as cigs in terms of health when you're dealin wiht unkown suppliers.

I would agree with everything you just said there both of you but Tiger there are other ways to use marijuana. Its just with the illegal market mark up prices one could not afford the amounts it would take to eat or vaporize it. I would also recommend the book Reefer Madness by Eric Schlossinger. Hes the dude who wrote Fast Food Nation and is about black markets and who profits from them. It examines illegal imigration and the sex trade as well as the drug trade. A very interesting read, although I guess you probably dont have time to read anything for the next few years.

Intersting how 'litter on the course" took a life of its own and a left turn down the path of the virtues of cannibas (sp). I knew I would like this group! Anyway, for those of you who want to trash the course, stop! For those of you like me who want to fight crime, grow your own!
