Justin,

I knew I'd heard that quote before, but I think TW actually stole it from 50's comedian and actor, Fred Allen.

here's soome other great ones.

Well Jebb after long debate in my head I've decided to move down to Rec. Your argument made since on the PDGA discussion board. I'm just disappointed that our division got cut up like it did. I think the Rec division should be called something different then REC. Oh well. See ya there!

889 is my rating and I'm always trying to improve it (although it appears stuck there if you look at my ratings history), so take it up with the PDGA if you disagree. If my rating somehow goes over 900 by then I'll gladly move up, but in the meantime there's so many little things I need to tweak in my game ;)

Last year we all decided on a hotel about a month out and then we got rooms. I want to say it was the Comfort Inn (N on the map linked below).

I guess we need to pick a hotel and all try to stay there so rides to diff courses are much easier for everyone to manage.

lets hit the hotel thing quick i will throw down to insure rooms then we can throw down the difference later, you know it will be reserved out fast.

I got a room at the same place I stayed last year, The Courtyard by Marriott. It's an awesome room close to the bulk of the courses. A bit pricey but when split with someone it's not so bad. On that note... :) If anyone wants to split a sweet ass room with 2 double beds that feel like marshmellows, let me know. $50.00 per night (that's with me eating the tax). Not a bad deal and well worth it for the nights sleep you get on these beds. I'm checking in Thursday (so I can practice on Friday) and will have it through Sunday.

This thread is from one of the officers in BG. So far the courses being played looks like this.

ADV: Franklin, Kerikus, White and Phil Moore
INT/REC: Lovers, Hobson, Preston Miller and Basil Griffen. I hope that they keep it this way but read below.

No update on what will be in the players pack other than Adv. will get 4 discs, shirt and i think a mini, and Int/Rec will be receiving 3 discs plus shirt and mini.

This is VERY IMPORTANT INFO!!!

Each divsion will be capped at 360. There will be a max 360 Adv. and 360 Int/Rec with Int/Rec being counted as one. Once those fill that is that. If you sign up Int/Rec and find out that it hit the 360 mark then you either have to drop out or pay the extra money and play Advanced. There will also be NO pool shuffle except for Top 2 pools (A and B) so this will make it easier for everyone who needs rides and wants to play with buddies.

For those of you who may need to hit the road after the tourney, you will have to wait until after the Adv. final 9 before any results are posted, and we will be going down the list with winners first and so forth.

Course Update!!!

Phil Moore MAY NOT be used if bad weather floods the course, and Chalybeate may be put into the shuffle instead. This may also cause the courses for each divison to change.

Activities throughout the weekend will be doubles events on Friday and Discraft will be hosting a driving contest, INNOVA a putting contest. If I can remember more info I'll be sure to keep everyone updated!!!!

Michael Davis, I (and a 3rd mystery occupant) are staying at the Comfort Inn @ 4646 Scottsville Rd from Thur to Sun if anyone wants to also book a room there (rides will be easier to manage).

Based on last year, this hotel is probably in one of the very best locations, 1 block from the on/off ramps of I-65.

The pool will determine what order you play the courses in. So you'll want to look for other people in your pool to ride with. There is a chance that your pool will change Saturday night so you'll need to keep an eye on the website/in touch with people to find out your Sunday situation.

Looks like you've got Jebb and Danny Newton in your pool for Saturday, so you should be good to go!

Josh, Viktor or I one will be driving, we'll save ya a seat!

Found this on PDGA Forums..

In deed there will be a shuffle on Saturday night, A and B, C and D, E and F, and G and H. The PDGA expects the players to be placed together based on their scores. Coordinating rides may be an issue we know, sorry.

Courses played by pools, as follows:

Round 1

A Franklin
B Kereiakes
C Phil Moore
D White
E Griffin
F Preston
G Hobson
H Lovers

Round 2

A Kereiakes
B Franklin
C White
D Phil Moore
E Preston
F Griffin
G Lovers
H Hobson

As has been mentioned before, if weather does not allow us to use Phil Moore, then Advanced will play Hobson and Intermediate/Rec/Juniors will move to Chalybeate.

I know Jebb had said something about Phil Moore getting bumped but this is the latest I've seen.

Doesn't matter about the weather, the TD says we will play Phil Moore, unless told otherwise during the mandatory players meeting on Firday. I can only remember 1 or 2 of these BG ams in the past 7-8 years that the weather has actually been nice.....looks like another blowing green open to me........bring it on!

The TD also said that anybody that does not check in during the mandatory Friday night meeting, needs to send him an email, fivesmalls@insightbb.com, letting him know, and check in with the course official 30 minutes before the start of the first round, or that spot will be given to the first person on a long waiting list.

Which means, in true BG fashion, that everyone will be told on Friday night that they aren't playing the courses they've been told they're going to play all week. Also I predict that they will ban all the women from the tournament. Seems to be the way they work.

I beat Michael by a stroke today at Franklin from the long pads :)

We both shot down on Basil Griffin.

To be honest, I'd be a bit embarassed to be running a tourney with the shape these two courses we played today are in currently. As usual, grass isnt cut, water is up, looks like there's open construction/tree removal on some holes, etc. I know there are several courses in BG, but damn. Not a soul was out working on these issues either. We'll still have fun :)

Oh one more thing. 2 years ago we had to play Water Works about one week after it was completed. It was a disaster! Tons of stumps throughout the fairways. You'ld throw a good drive only to see it kick 75 feet off the fairway off a stump under the basket. The course was a mud pit and it hadn't even rained much.

Well, Vik, JD and I are on the road, just passing Nashville.

We had a lot of DGB family cash. Jebb finished T10th in Rec, Jason Miller cashed, Mike D cashed in Advanced, i'm prety sure Josh Lenox did in Intermediate, I'm sure there are more, but those are the few I talked to.

When we left Blair Bose was playing in the advanced final nine. sitting in 2nd place three strokes off the lead.

I shot +18 (Lovers), +11 (Hobson), +7 (Preston) and +11 (Griffin). Not very good but I beat over 40 people in a division I shouldn't have even been playing in. So, I'm happy enough. I met some really cool people (like Steven Kuzenski, from MN, who shared my room with me and is the host of pdga radio) and got to at least play one course I hadn't yet played (Hobson). The conditions for my first round at Lover's were MISERABLE (wind chill of 34 with gusting winds) and it really affected my round. But, oh well, I made it through all 4 rounds without DNFing and maybe next year I will be rated over 850 so I can play in my rightful division. Or maybe they will open up the Novice division (right).

But congrats to Jebb and all the other DGBers who cashed. Conspicuously absent were any female DGBers. Last year Nicki won the Int. Women's division and this year not a single woman showed up to represent DGB. So, come on Emilii, Britney, et. al. Grow a pair and sign up for next year. :)

I was happy finishing T18th with (imo) 2 terrible rounds (+7 at lovers and hobson) and 2 good ones (-1 at griffin and -2 at preston)
Maybe it'll help my rating..... haha
