Here are the results!

The doubles at Trussville got a bit "damp", but the winners were
Tim Kieth/Josh Lenox at -2. I left those results in my car, I'll post them in the thread later.

I think for a first time event i think we did pretty well, We would love to hear some feedback from those that played, especially the first time tournament players. I say "we" because somehow I got pegged as TD on this, but without Viktor this never would have happenend, he was most deffinetly the "co-TD".

Huge thanks to all that helped: Tom Monroe, Michael Davis, Richard Brown, Josh & Marla Lenox, Tim Kieth, Joe Thacker, Stewart Flynn, Tom Bassing, and countless others.

I hope everyone had a great time, and the first time players enjoyed themselves. Stay tuned for a possible DGB/Free The Hops tournament in early September!

Marla and I want to thank Justin and Vik for running a great tournament.

Oh and as I said at doubles. To all you losers out there who chickened out on the doubles tournament: you're wusses. Feel the love people.

Josh

PS A special thanks to Tim Kieth for carrying me in doubles, and to Vik for putting up with me.

Had an awesome time gang, Thanks for all you do for disc golf and hats off thanks to all the crew that have done all the hard work to get Trussville underway!! It's a gem in the rough but you got a great start. Just need more people out there helping you on work days. Thanks again for all the hard work!

I achieved my main goal which was even at GW, even though I had 5 birdies, but still very happy to have that. 1 over for Trusville in the rain was nice too hehe.

See ya next trip.

Great job Justin and Vik. It was really cool to see so many players and all the first timers. Many of them did not realize just how good they are, because they haven't played outside their "group" before.
I hope we can merge with the Save the Hops guys in Sept and do it again. That event could be really big and mucho fun.

i had a great time despite narrowly avoiding last place.

great job justin. i don't know how these things are supposed to go, but my experience was great.

except for 14. i threw it low and then watched roll all the way down the hill into the ditch. that was the beginning of the end. first time i've ever seen one do that.

I had a blast guys, fun stuff!

Would have had a decent score had it not been for the extension holes (only played them 3x prior), so the double and triple bogies back there screwed my game bigtime. Needless to say, I know where to go practice more before Sept 9th! :D

Thanks for all the effort in putting this all together to everyone involved http://dev.discgolfbirmingham.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Thanks Justin and Viktor, and all others who chipped in. I saw lots of excited new faces and heard lots of first-timers saying that they couldn't wait until the next tourney. First time tourney experiences are crucial to keep new players playing (and getting involved in DG). Your hard work made it enjoyable for all and will no doubt lead to more DG'ers in Birmingham.

P.S. I think we need to get Stewart to some other tourneys!!
