A low cost event to give locals a chance to get a couple more rated
rounds in by the end of the year. Am payout will be at least 150%.

We will be offering our 2008 CPF Bag Tags for the first time at this
event.

Recreational Division has been added. Entry fee will be $10 for it. Recreational is for players rated under 875.

I have recieved an Innova Traveler that I plan to give to the winner of Advanced if we have at least 10 in that division. Am payout in all divisions will be at least 160%.

Question.

I would like to participate in this event. I'm already signed up for the christmas classic intermediate level.

You bring this "recreational" division up and say that it is for players rated below '875'.

I dunno what my rating is, I've only been playing for 3 weeks, hehe.

So I guess what my question is, is it still ok if I join intermediate or do I have to join 'rec'?

Would just be nice to know. I'm planning on being in 'int' in my first tourney and would like to stick with that level if it's competitive for me. And I plan on possibly having my PDGA membership in effect before the years end.

Thanks.

Yes, you can always moved up a division. You can play Intermediate if you like.

You will have a rating after you join the PDGA and play in a sactioned tournament.

You can join the PDGA at either tourney, just pay the TD.

yeah, you can play any division you want right now. Ratings are updated via the PDGA once every 3 months I believe? And the TD has to actually turn in the scores and everything on time for it to pop up. So depending on when the deadline is for the next rating update you should have one by early next year and then you can worry about what division you "should" be playing in

Shawn, just join on line now. You might even get your lifetime number before the tourney.

I got something nice in the mail today that I will add to the first place in Intermediate for this tournament.

It is the 2007 Christmas disc from Innova, these discs go to Team Innova members and Innova dealers. This years disc is a Glo Champion Orc with a very nice stamp of an elf putting inside of a snow globe. This one is max weight, 175g.

If you want a preview, we will have a mini tourney at the Sportsplex next Sunday. The course will play the same then as it will for thew CPFC. Sign in by 1:15.

Due to the holiday, I do not think we will have a big turnout. But you never know, DGB has supported our minis well in the past.

Open $11
Advanced $8
Intermediate $6

$1 discount to current CPF bag tag holders.

$1 optional ace pot that currently stands at $372.

How is this course laid out?

I've heard it's wide open for the most part, are there long and short tee pads or does everyone play from one, just trying to get a general idea, i won't be able to make it this weekend for the "preview"...

Thanks

Mostly open with alot of OB, creeks and roads. 8 holes have two tees, but everyone will play the same tees for this one. Long tees will be played on 4,6,7 & 16.

OK thanks...

How's the water level as of now in these creeks, lose a disc deep or just puddled up?

You should not lose a disc anywhere, the creek behind 8 and beside is the only place you might not get your disc out immediately. But, get it ASAP after the round because we have a disc thief that will be out there early to fish them out and he will not try to return them.

Bill,
Tyler & I are headed up to Athens tomorrow for some practice. Is the course set up in the tourney position or if not, which holes will be changing?

So who is headed to Athens and who is staying to play in B'Ham? I'd like to play a last round with some of ya'll and am wondering where everyone will be this weekend, DG wise at least.

Sat looks like a high of 52, 8 mph, 10% chance rain in Athens.

Sun is 59, 70% chance of rain in Bham

IndyJonez

Well, I'm heading to Athens rain or shine.

Sure you weren't referring to me though, since we don't really know one another, hehe. Maybe have the chance to play with ya some day though!

Have fun!:D

I am probably going up tomorrow night and spending the night.

I have a couple of friends coming down from Michigan to play the tournament. You know it is cold when you will drive 11 hours to play a C tier.

At least 1 player is a Pro. Ziggy Bierekoven is only 15 years old but he is a 988 rated player. I think the other 2 guys are advanced players.

I look good in a skirt, don't act like you don't know....

Anyway, I don't think i'm going to be able to make it up, some silly prior plans I made. I hate it, I need to enact some revenge on that course and I'd sure like to meet some of those Michigan folks you're always talking about. Maybe we can get them to Birmingham in July for an A-tier!

Hey, had a great time yesterday! I liked the course despite all the ob, which I happened to stay out of most of the time.

Looking foward to playing Lions Club up there later on. :D

btw, the ratings were up and fine last night but this morning something is screwy with them, just thought I'd let you know.

The results are back up, I made a mistake and it took a while to correct. The corrected ratings are probably a point or two lower than what was up last night.
