Trussville was _packed_

After doubles yesterday Viktor, Tom, Stew, & myself stuck around for a second round. About hole 10 we started seeing a few people and it stacked from there. By the time we got back to the parking lot there were around 20 cars parked out in the grass and probably close to 50 people playing.

Viktor and I spent 10 minutes or so with 3 high school guys showing them the basics and talking about discs. It appears that at least one of the larger groups might have been a church orginization.

Joe, TK, when we get the bulliten board up do you think we should offer to do some free clinics for them and maybe the middle school? That kind of thing might go a long way with the city council...

Great Idea Justin, We have already bantered that idea around a few times. Hanan was subbing in the Trussville system for a while and it seemed that he might have a good contact. Regardless, when we get the course complete, and after the course dedication ceremony, we will contact the high school and middle school PE folks and schedule some clinics, etc. I have already spoken with Innova briefly about some plastic donations for the schools.

The trouble is, if we do too good of a job, the course might be as packed as GW. The better news is that, if the City of Trussville sees what a huge success disc golf is, they might want even more courses (other than the other one that's already approved). Per TK's idea, it would be easy to put in another course across the street in the Trussville Sports Complex, City willing. It would be much more like Mastin Lake though: short and tight!

Thanks to the great volunteer efforts of people like you, Trussville is really shaping up, and disc golf is blossoming in B'ham. It's about time!:)

other course?

we got to trussville around noon Sunday, and it was ours alone. Great work on the new teepads. #3 is great!

the unoffically named Ditchell Ravine on #2 was happy to see me as well.

Couldn't hang around for doubles (I think I could only provide elaborate and inventive curse words anyways) but I think we'll have a crew out for the bag tag challenge. my group currently has 13,14,15.

I expect that to change.
