I spoke directly with TK after we all played last Thur, but in order to quell any rumors I'll let him respond as to the details. He seemed ok thur and he did say he was likely going to rest over the weekend.

I got my results from my stress test thursday, i may have some blockage in the lower part of my heart, i have to go back this thursday for a CT scan of my heart, they will inject me with dye to check to see if it is indeed blockage.

i have just been feeling tired and weak and having some tightness in my chest, i am just taking it easy till i figure out what is going on. better safe than sorry.

Really sorry to hear that TK.

I just did a stress test last week as part of my annual physical. They found essentially the same thing. There is a small area on the back of my heart that isn't getting enough blood flow. I never really noticed any problems but they want to do a cardiac catheterization in the next few weeks. Of course they told me not to worry but now I am oversensitive to everything.

I will be wanting to ask you lots of questions about your procedure.

Well my simple CT scan was declined by blue cross, they don't want to pay for it, so it looks like i am going to have to get the old fashion "Arteriogram" next wed. OH YEA can't Wait.

They really don't care what you do or say, it won't help. It's like talking to the cable company. Insurance companies aren't really the problem though. People think they are, but the real problem is goverment regulation and the do gooder part of the insurance companies. That's not what Michael Moore would say I would bet. In fact I would doubt socialized medicine would work in the US because we're used to having the best of everything. That doesn't happen when your Doc makes less than a factory worker. Why do you think we have so many non native physicians? They can make money here, so they come here.

Anyway here's one of the main issues. Medicare pays hospitals percentages of what they charge. So if your hospital charges you $30 for an aspirin, they probably are getting paid 30 cents. What it means is that hospitals raise their charges to super high levels so medicare will pay at a reasonable rate. Medicare says you have to charge everyone the same, whether you negotiate a lower rate with them or not. So if you don't have insurance, you pay the full rate, even though Medicare etc doesn't.

When you come to a hospital ER, you don't have to pay up front, so people without money go there instead of a doc in the box where you have to pay cash up front. Well because of the above mentioned stuff, the ER visit is usually like a thousand bucks while the doc in the box is $100. Here's the catch, the hospitals can't really collect on the debt unless you want them too (ie if you need credit). So the poor and unethical (if you prefer, the non working poor) get off scot free. The poor or even lower middle class, who value such things as paying their bills, get stuck paying the ENTIRE amount! So those people, who are also the least likely to have insurance because the poor and unethical are smart enough to use every goverment dollar available to them (like medicaid and medicare (for those on disability (believe me its the new welfare, 50% of my disability medicare patients are more fit than I am), are the ones who can't afford healthcare, but at the same time are paying everyone else's bill.

Why is it done this way? Because some well meaning goverment beurocrat says that hospitals (most of which are non profits BTW) can offset their losses on the unethical poor by charging and getting paid more by cash payers. Did anyone follow that? I've got a bunch of other tidbits, but I can't say them here, because they could get me fired.

He has some good ideas but the way he twists what people say and mis-information he feeds people is bs... One thing in sicko is he mentions how low the US is on the world medicare chart or what not that it is, and on that same list is Cuba(lower on the list than the US), which he brings people to to get care away from the US. He will use things to help prove a point but ignores the rest that disproves his actions.
