I am new to the site. I am sure this question could be found somewhere, but , I just wanted to get involved and talk to some more people. Question is, how do I get do the new trussville course. Me and 2 of my friends have been playing 2 or 3 times a week at George Ward since January. Not to say we have mastered it by any means, but, we would just like to throw a different course. I think we are going to go on Wednesday of this week. How does this course compare to GW? Differences, similarities? Thanks inadvance for the responses. We hope to learn alot from you pros.

trussville is nothing like GW. The t-ville course has tighter, and generally longer, fairways with 3 holes that will have you on the tee pad saying "what the hell" and once you've finished the hole saying "ok...so I suck". But other than that its a fun course. Some, but not all tee pads have been installed. The course has both am and pro pads and for first time players I suggest using the am pads. We will actually be holding a "tee pad work day" this wednesday if you'd like to come out and help or just meet some of the locals. We will be out there around 1 I believe and working til we all pass out. Hopefully we'll see you guys out there.

As far as directions go:
To get to Civitan park take 59 North towards Gadsden and exit at exit 141. It's the Trussville/Pinson exit just past 459. Turn right (east) and the road will narrow to two lanes. After about a mile you will see a brown sign for the Senior Citizens Center. Follow the sign, turning left on Oak Street. Pass through 2 stopsigns and turn right on the first road after the bridge. The city wants us to to park out in the grass in front of the Senior Center so turn in at the road just before the 3rd stop sign and park near the two tall pine trees.

Oh and welcome to the site! Thanks for contributing!
You should come out and check out doubles sometime. Great way to meet the local players and you can usually pick up a few tips from some of the better players. It's really casual and meant for players of all skill levels!
