We will be hosting another concrete pour at the Trussville course on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 2PM. Between now and then I will meet with a concrete expert who will give me some ideas on easier ways to get concrete to some of the more difficult pads. If the meeting is enlightening, and there is a better way to get concrete to these pads (2am, 3pro, 3am, 18am and 18pro), we will hire the appropriate equipment and get at least three or four of these difficult pads done then. If there is no better way, we will pour 16pro, 17pro, 6pro, 12pro and 18pro on Wednesday. We have also been offered the services of the City of Trussville, and I will determine exactly what they are offering by next week.
To that end, we will need to get these pads framed and ready over the next two weeks. I think the adopt-a-pad effort went pretty well. Hopefully the effort that went into excavating and leveling each pad was apparent and reproducible by others. Once again, TK and I will check the pads prior to the pour to ensure that they are level. 18pro is complete. If you need a go-by, check it out. Please contact me via this thread or at jthacke@bellsouth.net to sign up for one of the other pads, or if you have a two-wheeled wheelbarrow.
We will need as many people as possible for the pour, be sure to bring leather gloves and some water. If someone has a two-wheeled wheelbarrow, that would be very helpful. I expect the USUAL SUSPECTS to be there as they always are, I would like to see some others show up and put some effort in. Several BUDA members (ulimate players) have already signed up.
We are still looking for donations to the tee pad fund, and I'd like to thank Dangerous Don for his generous gift of $100, Richie Blaylock for his generous gift of $100 and Art Meripol for his donation of $150, as well as all those who have contributed to Tom over at George Ward. Birmingham Ultimate Disc Association (BUDA) has also offered a donation of at least $500, which will provide funds for at least 5 pads. I personally can't wait to have all the pads in the ground!
Thanks all.:) :)
