The Trussville tee-pad's took a big step on Wednesday as the first three were poured.

Without the help of volunteers this would NOT have been possible. Be sure to thank these guys if you see them on the course! (From left to right: Viktor, James, Chris, Michael, Joe (behind the tree), TK, and Brent (I think that's the name...correct me if I'm wrong!)
The Extra long (15') #15 pro tee-pad went first, followed by #8 pro finally providing a nice level throwing surface for that uphill shot. #2 pro came last since it required filling buckets with concrete, lifting them up onto a 5' ledge, then carrying them 100'+ to the tee-pad.

I just want to thank averyone that helped yesterday, it was a great team effort! It would not have happened without your help. Maybe next time we pour we can get a few more folks out to enjoy the labor of pouring tee pads!!
P.S The golden bucket award goes to Justin, he worked till he spewed lunch and then kept on hauling those buckets!! Justin and myself also enjoyed some tasty beverages while we watched joe learn to run the bobcat:eek:

i stopped at a gas station on the way out and drank 2 liters of water before i got home.

Has anyone been out to check the pads out. I was worried last night when the thunder storms started--Any rain drop out in Trussville?

How many holes have cement pads now? I thoroughly enjoyed playing there last year. Too bad there was a festival of some sorts when I was there and the back right portion of the course was being used as a parking lot. Anybody else got pics of T-ville and what is par?

I'd like to put this at the top of our club project to do list. After Firedhouse and before it gets fire-hot lets "get'er done".

As far as bags of concrete go, if you do not have a good deal on them I probably can pick up some busted bags from work, for cheap.

Rob, We get a truck load at a time and get about 4 pads per truck load, we could use some bags though, we still have 18 pin plasments to put in the ground at civitan. going to try and start figuring out there placments soon.

I dont know what you are getting it for or exactly what pound bags you want. But I can get 672 80# bags (16 pallets ) of quickcrete for 2405.76, possible that I can get a little lower, if you have somewhere that does it cheaper let me know cause I know I can get a price beat on it.

Rob,
Thanks for the offer, however (and I think I'm speaking for the club, or maybe I'm just speaking for myself), the reason we prefer to purchase concrete from a ready-mix supplier is that we can place it relatively easier that having to mix wheelbarrows of quickcrete. Thia would require having to haul first the bags of quickcrete to the tee pad area then having to haul sufficient water there, then having to actually mix it. And speaking from experience, haviing to mix it in the quantities we require would be very difficult. Now, having to mix small quantities for placing new pin sleeves shouldn't be too much trouble. But for the tee pads, truckloads of ready-mix is better.

Gotcha. I started thinking about how you would get enough water etc back in the woods.

Jebb, I'm not looking to be Negative Ned, but, concrete companies might not want to send a driver out with a single load that late especially to have him return after normal business hours. Just something to consider.

Richard is right Jebb, We could schedule a truck at 1PM though. It makes sense to pick a date (or a week, as it is generally easy to schedule a truck) and then get the pads formed first. If we get 5 pads formed, with 10 people, we could easily get five poured in an afternoon.
Rob, Can you get us a deal on twenty 60-pound bags of concrete mix?

IMO, the pads that need to be poured next are 6 Pro, 7 Pro, 10 Pro, 12 Pro and 18 Am, followed by 3 Am, 4 Pro, 8 Am, 12 Am and 16 Am.

Yeah,
When will you need it ? and I don't have a big enough truck to haul that so I will need someone to pick it up.
