Concrete pour in Trussville Wednesday June 21!!! Right now we have four volunteers lined up for Wednesday (TK, Justin, Jeremy and Joe). I believe Viktor is in as well. The USUAL Suspects. I would really like to see some OTHER people help with the course! :)
We will need AT LEAST 4 more to have a bucket brigade. PLEASE let me know as soon as possible if you can be in Trussville next Wednesday at 1:30 PM to help pour some teepads. Bring some good gloves and everyone bring two 5-gallon buckets if you have any. Thanks!

that means also we will be framing the tee pads on monday and tuesday for all that can help with that, or if you can do it over the weekend that would be OK to

Unfortunatly I'll be out of town all weekend with Father's Day.
I should be over Monday and Tuesday afternoon though, and I'm off all day Wednesday. Stoked to get this projected started!

For now, Let's frame only 2 Pro, 2 Am, 18 Pro, 3 Pro and 15 Pro. Frame 15 Pro out to 14 feet. TK and I will inspect the framing on Tu and Wed. We will start with a "small" 6-yard pour to see how things go. Thanks for all the hard work.

Joe, TK;
Word was mentioned in another thread about having a supplier (Bob?) for the framing material. If so how do we get it? If not, no problem purchasing a little for one or two pads. Just need to know.

Working the ole 7:00 to 6:00 shift everyday during the week prevents me from getting out during the day. If you guys have a work day on a weekend let me know.

Maj DG and all framers, Go ahead and purchase the wood that you will need, if you don't mind. I don't know if Bob will be back in town in time to supply the wood. I would suggest 40 feet of 1x4, 10 feet of 1x6, and 40 wooden stakes per tee pad. Once we buy these, we can reuse them. Keep your receipts and I will reimburse you unless you want to make the donation.
TK and I will frame out 18 tomorrow morning as an example. Be sure to make the frame level from side to side and front to back (using a string level). Tamp the soil down well around the inside edges of the frame. Make sure the stakes do not protrude above the edge of the frame. Once again, check out 18 as an example. Call me w/? 365-9352

Just thinking outloud here, but have you guys thought about calling your connections with the city/parks department in Trussville? Perhaps they can refer you to whomever they buy concrete from and you can get a "city/non profit rate" or something similar.
Also, would the city have a bobcat that they would let us use/lend us a city worker for the afternoon?

Hey Justin, Ready Mix USA has graciously agreed to donate the first 5 yards, which will help a lot. We will purchase the rest whcih will net out to anout $68/yard, which is a good rate. TK is calling the Parks dept. to see if they have a bobcat or other vehicle we can use.
Does anyone know where we might be able to borrow a 4-wheeler for Wednesday?

Reminder. We will need EVERYONE's HELP this Wednesday to make the concrete pour work. Fifteen people will not be too many. Please make it out and pass this along to your friends. We have a limited amount of time to transport concrete to the pads. Thanks

Don't forget to bring 5 gallon buckets if you have some or what ever you have to carry concrete in, we mainly need buckets for the wooded holes.

If you need a bucket, Mazer's on 41st has 3.5 gallon buckets for $0.99 each. I recommend two buckets, as it is easier to carry two than one.

Are the people who started prepping tee pads going to have them finished before Wed., if not let myself or joe know so we can get them done in time to pour. I guess that would be pro 2, pro 8 and pro 15.
thanks for all the hard work!

I talked to Joe yesterday and said i could come out there this afternoon, but I really don't have much in the way of tools or the know how to setup the framing. Is there anything to be done before tommorrow?

I will be out there this afternoon probably around 12:30. Is there anything that needs to be done before the pour? Are all of the pads framed that are being poured today? Do I need to stop and pick anything up?
If anyone can think of anything, post here or give me a call.

Justin is going out there this morning to finish up 8 and 15, they were not finished, we started a path by 2's tee pad to 18's tee pad, that needs to be wide enough to get a bobcat through. Bobba and tim are suppose to be renting one for today.

If I hear you correctly, a path between 2 and 18 for a bobcat to get thru should be a high priority.
